Registration for all delegates will include: 

  • Access to all sessions
  • Access to catering during the symposium, including tea breaks, lunches and evening poster receptions
  • Symposium dinner on Wednesday 24 October 2024
  • Inclusion on the delegate list (where permission is given)

International delegates

Registration fees for all international delegates will also include three nights' accommodation at the Pullman Kaifeng Jianya. Check in on Monday 21 October, check out on Thursday 24 October.  More details about accommodation

The student rate is also extended to international delegates from low- and middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank). Delegates can also apply for a travel grant to assist in their attendance. Travel grants may include a partial or full fee waiver. 

From 15 June 2014, registration rates will be £725 for Regular delegates and £550 for student delegates (with ID). 

We strongly advise all international delegates to book by 1 August to ensure you have enough time to apply for a visa to enter China.

Chinese delegates

Chinese delegates should first provide their registration details here on the New Phytologist symposium site. Once they have an "order reference number", they should proceed to pay their registration fee to Henan University. 

Delegates should provide their registration details in English, apart from the field that asks for their Chinese name.  

Please note that registration for Chinese delegates does not include accommodation.  Visit the accommodation section for information about booking hotel rooms with discounted rates. 

From 15 June 2014, registration rates will be 3000 RMB/¥ for Regular delegates and 2500 RMB/¥ for student delegates with ID.

On-site payment will be 3500 RMB/¥ for Regular delegates and 3000 RMB/¥ for student delegates with ID.

Payment options for delegates based in China

Early Bird Regular - delegate based in China

Delegates based in China should provide their delegate details via this registration form. Your contact details will then be passed to Henan University who will request your delegate fee payment of 2500 RMB/¥.   Please note that your place at the symposium will not be confirmed until you pay your registration fees.   

Early Bird Student - delegate based in China

Student Delegates based in China should provide their delegate details via this registration form. Your contact details will then be passed to the team at Henan University who will request your delegate fee payment of 2000 RMB/¥. Please note that your place at the symposium will not be confirmed until you pay the registration fees.

Travel grants

We have a limited number of travel grants available. To apply for a travel grant, you must also submit an abstract for consideration. Preference will be given to individuals in the early stages of their career.  See the FAQs for some common questions about travel grants. 

The deadline for travel grant applications is 14 June 2024.  

To apply for a travel grant, in addition to your abstract you should submit

  • A brief (no more than 200-word) statement indicating your reasons for wishing to attend and how you hope the meeting will enhance your career/research
  • A CV, which includes academic details, publication history, presentations given, awards and any other information to support your application
  • A supporting letter from a scientist who has agreed to act as a referee for your application, this can also be emailed directly to np-symposia@lancaster.ac.uk. 

Decisions will be communicated in July 2024.
